Build Route 05 / Appy Pie

Choose Appy Pie when the thing you need is an app, not another website page.

This route fits when people need to complete several actions inside a web or mobile app. Think a customer tool with screens, user inputs, automated actions, and integrations that go beyond a simple contact form.

OUTPUT: A WORKING APP FOR ONE CUSTOMER JOB

The exact moment to choose Appy Pie

You can describe the customer task, but the solution needs more than a public site. A user may need to enter information, complete a process, see a result, and come back to use the app again. You want AI help building a functional web or mobile app without beginning from code.

Build this first version

  1. One user: Name the person opening the app.
  2. One outcome: State what they should finish with.
  3. Three screens: A start screen, the task screen, and a result or confirmation screen.
  4. One connection: Add an integration only if the first version cannot work without it.

45-minute first test

Write this before you open a builder: “A [user] opens the app, enters [information], presses [action], and gets [result].” Use that sentence as the first prompt. Test the path on a phone, then remove anything that does not help that user finish the job.

Stop and choose another route if...

You only need a small browser-based tool around one focused workflow, such as an intake form, calculator, or lead tracker. Start with Base44. If you only need a person to understand your offer and contact you, start with Wix.

Christopher’s desk note

A customer-facing app earns its place when it finishes a job that a page of instructions cannot.
